It’s always a memorable experience to pop along to the National Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby
Fishing has often been described as one of the toughest jobs in the world. The Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre aims to take you back 60 years to discover the life of these incredibly tough trawler men and their families, both at home and at sea. You will have the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, smells and even the movements of life as a 1950’s trawler man.
You can also discover life for the British trawler men in a job described as ‘the most dangerous peacetime occupation in the UK’. Climb aboard the historic ‘Ross Tiger’ trawler to experience the conditions aboard one of the earliest surviving diesel side-trawlers!

A Stroll in a Beautiful Park
People’s Park is the ideal place to walk or just relax and watch the world go by.
Sitting on 10 hectares of land with a lovely central lake playing host to mallard, coot, moorhen and Canada geese. The large grassed area is popular for recreational games or to relax and have a picnic.
The avenue of trees is a lovely picture especially when the spring bulbs are out in bloom. The scenery within the park is perfect for photographers and artists alike.
The park has two bowling greens and a croquet lawn, which are cared for by the park staff and are utilised very well. There is also a play area and cafe on site.

Going Deep at the Deep (Star Tourist Attraction)
This is a fascinating tourist attraction displaying every type of living sea creature imaginable and a very fun filled educational visit for all ages.
You can explore over 4 billion years of ocean history from giant fossils to Megalodon shark teeth. As you journey down the ramp and get deep, you will follow the history of the oceans’ until the present day, discovering how life came to be on Earth. Walking a timeline, you will meet some of the magnificent animals that lived during this period and take in the textures of the fossil wall, exploring the creatures of ocean’s past.

Taking a walk across the famous Humber Bridge will certainly assist…
The Humber Bridge, near Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, is a 2,220-metre (7,280 ft) single-span suspension bridge, which opened to traffic on 24 June 1981. When it was opened, it was the longest of its type in the world; it was not surpassed until 1998, with the completion of the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, and it is now the eighth-longest. It spans the Humber, (the estuary formed by the rivers Trent and Ouse), between Barton-upon-Humber on the south bank and Hessle on the north bank, thereby connecting the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

Why not pay a visit to a Beautiful Abbey Steeped in History
Thornton Abbey’s enormous and ornate fortified gatehouse is the largest and amongst the finest in England. This North Lincolnshire tourist attraction is the ideal way to spend a day.
Thornton Abbey’s impressive architecture reflects the abbey’s history as one of Britain’s richest Augustinian abbeys. The property is also amongst a handful of British abbeys that managed to survive the Suppression of the Monasteries by becoming a secular college, until it was eventually closed in 1547. A house was then constructed behind the gatehouse in the 17th century, but sadly it was either dismantled or never completed.
Today you can discover the turbulent lives of its former residents and try to spot the local wildlife, the more modern inhabitants of the abbey ruins. To extend your visit to Thornton Abbey, why not also visit the nearby St Peter’s Church and unlock the Buried Lives exhibition.
