Affordable Luxury across Lincolnshire.

Oak Ridge Hotels currently has two hotels in its portfolio, covering North Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire Wolds. The Ashbourne is set in the pretty village of North Killingholme, and the Brackenborough is on the outskirts of the Georgian market town of Louth. Both properties embrace stylish boutique-hotel living, yet scratch the surface, and you’ll find this backed up with freshly prepared, quality food and friendly, attentive staff.

Because we are a family-run hotel group we will go the extra mile if possible; we pride ourselves on being “small enough to care” – if you want something that’s not in a brochure or on the website – just ask, and we’ll do our very best to accommodate your wishes.

Across the hotels we offer a variety of function rooms suitable for all manner of events; weddings, parties, balls, conferences, and anything else you can think of. Both hotels also boast easy access via major routes, ample (free) car parking, and free wifi amongst our many facilities. We know it’s these little things that make a big difference to our customers.

Brackenborough Hotel

This was bought originally as a farm by Ashley’s parents in 1985, and then opened as an 11-bedroom hotel on 3rd August 1990. Their original intention was to open 4 days a week as a retirement project, but local demand put paid to that, and the number of bedrooms was slowly increased.

Ashley cut his teeth in the industry at the Brackenborough – working his way up from reception to GM. In 2005 Ashley bought his parents out, formed the Oak Ridge Hotels brand, and completed a full hotel refurb. Fast forward to 2018 and we now also have the stunning Tennyson Suite too!

Ashbourne Hotel

When Ashley was looking for another investment in the area, Ashley formed Lidgard Hotels, and purchased the Ashbourne Hotel on 1st June 2000. It was originally acquired as a rundown 10 bedroomed pub.

Due to the strong relationships the hotel forged with various local businesses, the demand for accommodation just kept on growing – 10 further bedrooms were added after 3 years, and then in 2011 the stylish function suite was added as well as another 16 bedrooms, helping to meet the demand for both quality accommodation, and larger scale weddings and events.

And a final note from Ashley Lidgard.

“To say that we have achieved a collective 40 years of trading across the hotels is a great source of pride to me. This is due to the hard work, vision and commitment not only of my parents, but also the team I have surrounded myself with over the years – I would be nowhere without them. I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the local businesses and customers that have supported us; it is their loyalty that has helped us navigate our way through both the lean and more prosperous times.

As for what the future holds for Oak Ridge Hotels… watch this space!”
